意大利都灵大学Emilio Hirsch教授学术讲座的通知

应西安交通大学生命科学与技术学院生物医学信息工程教育部重点实验室卢晓云副教授邀请,意大利都灵大学Emilio Hirsch教授于11月13日至11月20日期间访问我校并作学术报告。Emilio Hirsch教授在PI3K信号通路在疾病发生发展中的作用进行了深入研究,其研究小组还开发了一批PI3K特异性抑制剂,并研究了其在抗肿瘤、抗炎及抗心血管疾病的作用。目前,相关研究成果正在转化中。此次来访中,Emilio Hirsch教授将介绍其领导的Kither生物技术公司在PI3K特异性抑制剂研发方面的新进展。

报告人简介:
Emilio Hirsch博士,意大利都灵大学医学院,遗传、生物及生物化学系,分子生物技术中心全职教授, 意大利Kither生物技术公司CEO, Nature,  Cell等期刊审稿人。在磷脂酰肌醇-3激酶(PI3K)信号通路研究方面处于国际领先地位。发表论文百余篇,其中包括十余篇发表在Nature, Science, Cell等顶级期刊上的高水平论文。
PI3K信号通路广泛参与细胞的生长、增殖、细胞周期调控、凋亡及葡萄糖代谢等基本生理活动,其活性异常将导致癌症、心血管功能失调及免疫功能异常等疾病发生。Emilio Hirsch教授的研究小组构建了全球第一个PI3K敲除的基因工程小鼠模型,并揭示了PI3K不同亚基在癌症、炎症和心血管功能失调中的作用,提出PI3K可作为可能的药物作用靶点在相关疾病治疗中发挥作用。

Emilio HIRSCH is Full Professor in the Department of Genetics, Biology and Biochemistry, at the Molecular Biotechnology Center, School of Medicine, University of Torino. Author of more than 100 publications in international refereed journals including Nature, Science, Cell. His research interests are focused on the in vivo and in vitro analysis of signal transduction mechanisms in inflammation, cancer and, more recently, cardiac function. Among his contributions, of note is the report of the first PI3K knock-out mouse and the subsequent demonstration of PI3Kgamma as a potential drug target in inflammation and cardiovascular dysfunction.

1988             Graduation in Biology in the University of Torino (110 cum laude)
1990             State Exam; since then member of the "Ordine nazionale dei Biologi".
