Richard S. Nowakowski
佛罗里达州立大学医学院生物医学系主任,发育神经生物学家。毕业于威斯康星大学,哈佛大学博士,杜克大学博士后。任Cerebral Cortex、Journal of Comparative Neurology、Journal of Neuroscience、Developmental Neuroscience等多种神经科学领域著名杂志副主编或者编委。他的主要研究领域是大脑皮层的发育,特别是细胞增殖和迁移的调控,以及神经元数量的调控。他的著作大部分与干细胞和祖细胞的行为相关,他最出名的成就是引入溴脱氧尿苷(BrdU)法研究大脑中的细胞增殖。他的著作还包括了将动物研究成果转化到人类脑发育的概念中。他近期的研究工作集中在大脑和神经再生过程中个体差异的遗传学研究。
